moving on

well hello there world!!!

here i am attempting to crawl out of my little holiday cave and get into the groove of life!!!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful and magical holiday.

Ours was a rather mellow one.  I've had a hard year this year.  It is the first year since my mom died (this is the 7th xmas without her) that there hasn't been some monumentous milestone or event happening.  Like being engaged, being pregnant, babies' first christmases, first holiday season in our own home, etc....  This is the first year of just beingness... and it has rocked me.  Lots of sad moments and very little holiday cheer.  I TRIED, but honestly it just plain hurt.

Alas, we made it thorugh and it is time to move forward!!!!

Right now I'm dealing with a missing, very EXPENSIVE package that claims to have been delivered.  I'm in a panic... please send patience and calm my way. ;o)

My mind is swimming with ideas, and I am itching to sit down at the computer and do some work.  Keep your eyes open and check back to see developments.

  • Working with Jen was a total pleasure. She was relaxed, fun, and very flexible. I started the session feeling self-pressure to have the children dressed just right, the setting perfect, and everyone on their best behavior. Of course, the best laid plans were not to be - yet, Jen still captured the BEST pictures of my family I have ever seen. I highly recommend Jen Downer! ---Holly B
  • Jen was great!! We spent an enjoyable afternoon with her, and it never felt like a photo shoot. We were all at ease and she captured us as we are. Our photos are beautiful and truly portray our family. ---Becky
  • Jen and I went to art school together. I was in awe: her images had warmth, happiness and playfulness. Also a bit of nostalgia...the good kind, when memories are brought back with a little smile. She took a great detour after graduation by falling in love and starting a family. She already saw the good things about people, but now it's enhanced by having her own little people to nurture. She's the perfect person to document the special moments of every day life. ---Suzi
